I suppose that’s a producers response to the trend towards last-minute ticket buying, as the article suggests, though robust advance sales could provide a more comfortable cushion. In 2019, I saw 40 shows on Broadway and off, often using direct mail discounts, or Broadway Box or Theatermania discounts. Because those offers seem to have disappeared, I saw 18 shows in 2023. |
