I saw Dance of the Vampires, but seeing the subject line of this thread didn't bring it to mind for me. It brought to mind Christopher Hampton's play Total Eclipse, about Rimbaud and Verlaine, which I loved at the Chelsea Theatre Center in 1974 with Christopher Lloyd, who went on to a big career, and Michael Finn, who didn't but he was terrific. It was eventually made into a film with Leonardo DiCaprio and David Thewlis. There was also an Off-Broadway revival with Michael Cerveris and Peter Evans, which closed very quickly. |
