Maryann Plunkett and Dorian Harewood have been ruled Tony-eligible for Leading Actress and Leading Actor in a Musical for ''The Notebook.'' Could've fooled me. I thought they were both Featured. I wonder how Plunkett's entry affects the Best Actress race. Plus, Des McAnuff, who won a 1993 Tony for directing ''The Who's Tommy,'' is eligible for directing this 2024 musical revival of ''Tommy.'' Other rulings were less surprising: Chip Zien is eligible for Leading Actor in a Musical for ''Harmony.'' Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' ''Appropriate'' has never been on Broadway, but is eligible as a Best Play Revival. Grant Gustin and Isabelle McCalla are eligible for Leading Actor and Leading Actress in a Musical for ''Water for Elephants.'' (More below ...) |
