For me, the THREE indisputable knockouts of this season have been: ''Here Lies Love,'' ''Merrily We Roll Along'' and ''Oh, Mary!''
''Here Lies Love'' was thrillingly theatrical in its immersive staging. The all-Asian-American cast was incredible, and the songs fun and infectious.
I've caught about six revivals of ''Merrily,'' and none has rolled along as remarkably as this one, thanks largely to Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe.
''Oh, Mary!'' is one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen. I laughed throughout Cole Escola's comic escapades as Mary and Conrad Ricamora as Abe.
I've had the happy fortune to enjoy ''Here Lies Love'' and ''Merrily'' multiple times, and I hope to do the same for ''Oh, Mary!'' as it moves to Broadway. |
