Since there are there generations represented and each character is played by different races at different stages in life. There is absolutely no way you can convince me that ethnicity matters in casting that show.
And clearly the leads in NYNY are ethically picked. She could not be white with that plot of dating an Italian man. I raise that since I wondered for about 30 minutes if colorblind casting until the lyrics or dialog finally confirmed it was intended to be a racial couple. |
