Why doesn't it seem likely he'd be free? He left his broadway gig (Spamalot) to do this role at Encores for just 8 performances. I would think he'd be very very keen to do this on broadway, especially after the raves he got... which would very likely get him a Tony nom.

Urie is a theater regular and has committed a lot of his career to it... and has yet to be nominated for a Tony (many might be surprised to remember he didn't make the cut for Best Actor noms when he did Torch Song).

I would bet anything that he has his sights set on this this probably very likely Best Featured Actor in a Musical Tony nomination.
And while he is something of a draw, something of a name... being in a raved about or even well reviewed broadway musical comedy starring Sutton Foster, which even if it doesn't run long will surely be buzzed about for a few months, will elevate his visibility, cast-ibility, and popularity to another level - regardless of a Tony nom for it.
