What were they thinking. 18/19 season had gettin band back together, head over heels, prom, be more chill which were guaranteed flops. Potential hits were pretty woman, Cher show beetlejuice and tootsie. The only pretty sure was ain’t too proud and Hadestown—based on previous tryout. Is that season really much different than this season?

I’m surprised back to the future isn’t doing better and I thought here lies love had a good chance. But $22m budget makes it a big gamble. The notebook had some of the better reviews out of town. Nobody thought wine and roses had a chance. I thought gatsby was too weak of a show at papermill. I could go on but I think most of us could have guess there would be several flops in the bunch.

I wonder if some like it hot won the tony last season would it still be playing and recouped. It had the most potential to do so. I was not a fan of KA and it had a long run to close in the red. My guess it lost most of the investment limping along week after week.

Next season—swept away is a flop. It was good to pull forbidden broadway even though the budget was manageable. Death becomes her probably flop without major rewrite based on reviews. Wonderful world flop based on reviews. Tammy Faye has possibilities. It will be interesting to see if oh Mary is a hit. I liked it but I’m not sure broadway is its place—but it at least has possibilities.
