In the first scene when Lansbury grabbed Uncle Jocko by the collar and said, "Don't you laugh at me," the moment was nearly terrifying. For a second her madness surfaced. None of the other Roses I've seen -- LuPone, Daly, Peters -- captured that character-setting moment.
BTW: Where did you do "Gypsy" with Marlowe? I know of a production she did in Cleveland. I knew that company. |
