| Nearly everything was up on the Board last night because out of curiosity I walked over and looked. There was Hell's Kitchen, The Outsiders, Suffs, Stereophonic and even Cabaret (though that was for today's matinee admittedly) Also so many of the shows that have been running for years.I tis a stretch to say there were a number of people who stood in a theater ticket line and chose a concert because they "kinda" recognized the name. They wanted to see Ben Platt. Now there may be some of then that were disappointed they didn't see Evan Hanse but instead the actor who played Evan Hansen but Judging from the way so many in the audience knew his own songs and responded with the lyrics when told, they are definitely fans. I don't think anyone left disappointed after he delivered "Maybe This Time" as his next to closing number. My opinion anyhow. (Incidentally there were many times He reminded me favorably of Sam Smith) |
