At NYTW, Hadestown seemed promising but increasingly problematic as it moved towards its climax. As with Natasha Pierre, Chavkin made every right decision on its road to Broadway, which is why Lempicka's sorry development process was so confounding. I hope Gatsby follows Hadestown's example.
