Well, we're talking about a pops program that had to come in under 2 hours, not a comprehensive guide to the history of modern musicals. I'm sure a lot of songs didn't make it to the final program after being considered. And ultimately, it was what Danieley and Lockhart were most interested in presenting.
As far as "Prince Of Broadway" goes, sure, they snuck it in, but the show honored one of the undeniable greatest names associated with musical theatre, and the song itself was a perfect closer. |
