| Is the weisslers have a deal with the shuberts. Ambassador is not a desirable theater. It’s an odd layout and struggled to find shows to run even short time. Now shuberts get a weekly payment all year that is more than most plays that run a few months. So I don’t shuberts want to kick them out and i wouldn’t be surprised if lowered minimum lease. I doubt any stars get much—maybe a small percentage of gross. It probably has enough good weeks to cover the low weeks. If Kimberly akimbo can run under $500k, I doubt Chicago is much higher. No set, low props, simple costumesand wigs. It does make one wonder why cabaret costs $1.1m each week. |
