I get that argument. I would just have a hard time voting for what amounts to 1 full song and snippets of a few others over a more "complete," for lack of a better term, score. Especially with what I would consider to be some good-to-very-good options this year.
As for your Oscars analogy, to me this would be like if That Thing You Do lost to a 30-second jingle that Lloyd Webber and Rice wrote for Eva to sing on the radio. I agree that Schlesinger should have won that year though! |
