No. I mean the act of accepting an award that you can't be sure you're going to win (with 3 or 4 other worthy competitors) is still a spontaneous thing. Unless we're really saying that an acceptance speech is a planned/rehearsed performance like one does in a show. I don't like that. I want to see human beings reacting in the moment.
Aside from the fact that all of this is happening onstage with an audience, it's not the same task as preparing a role or a featured performance, etc. |
