New York, NY (June 18, 2024) — Today, producers Matthew Masten, Sean Hudock, and Madison Wells Live, announced the new musical Swept Away, featuring music and lyrics by The Avett Brothers, will play Broadway’s Longacre Theatre (220 W 48th St) with performances beginning Tuesday, October 29 and an opening set for Tuesday, November 19.

Tickets for Swept Away go on-sale to the general public this Friday, June 21 at 10:00AM ET. An exclusive fan pre-sale begins this Thursday, June 20 at 10AM ET, lasting through 9:59AM ET on Friday, June 21.

From the chart-topping folk-rock band The Avett Brothers comes "a spellbinding tale" (The Washington Post) of shipwreck, salvation and brotherhood set on the high seas.

An odyssey of "mythic proportions" (San Francisco Chronicle), Swept Away features a book by Tony Award winner John Logan (Red, Moulin Rouge! The Musical), direction by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Idiot) and choreography by Tony Award nominee David Neumann (Hadestown).

Broadway casting will be announced at a later date.

Wagner Johnson Productions serve as Executive Producers.

The Swept Away creative team includes music arranger & orchestrator Chris Miller, music arranger & orchestrator/music supervisor Brian Usifer, music director Will Van Dyke, Tony Award-winning set designer Rachel Hauck, Tony Award-winning costume designer Susan Hilferty, four-time Tony Award-winning lighting designer Kevin Adams, Tony Award-winning sound designer John Shivers, and casting director Jim Carnahan, Jillian Cimini, and Alexandre Bleau, CSA.
