There are quite a few examples. Anna and the King of Siam/The King and I, Oliver Twist/Oliver!, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera come to mind instantly. Adding that Anna must set some sort of record for being successful in five incarnations. There was even a TV series before the cartoon proved that every rose has its thorn. |
