Thanks, Mikem! Yes, Sondheim passed away on Nov. 26, 2021. My piece appeared on Talkin' Broadway on Dec. 2. I wrote it to show another side of Steve.

In 1994, there was a 10th anniversary reunion concert of ''Sunday in the Park With George'' with Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin. It, too, was soldout, but I did NOT write to Sondheim for help. Later, I'd tell him that I couldn't get tickets, and he said: ''Why didn't you write me? I'd have gotten you in.''

Finally, when Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford did ''Sunday in the Park'' on Broadway in 2017, the tickets were largely sold out or prohibitively expensive. So I did overnight rush, wrote about it for BroadwayWorld.com ... and Steve sent me a wonderful thank-you note for writing it.
