In an episode of the Freakonomics podcast from a couple weeks ago (link: How to Make the Coolest Show on Broadway), David Adjmi says that Stereophonic was the second most expensive show in the history of Playwrights Horizons. The money went to a longer rehearsal period, music lessons for the actors and an unusually expensive set, with a soundproof booth and functional sound equipment.
This makes me curious: what was the most expensive production? |
