| Saw LOLITA in previews during sophomore year in high school, having fallen in love with Sutherland after seeing ORDINARY PEOPLE...it was a thrill to see him onstage, not to mention in a brand new work by Edward Albee whose work I revered. Had written to him requesting a back stage visit for my best friend & me, & he was very gracious...oh what a golden time for Broadway plays back then, even if some were imperfect. Am so glad he continued to do beautiful work, right up till very recently. Will very much miss him... |
