I don't want to dig too deep into the great unknown so I'll be brief. 1. Enhancement: I connected the dots differently. My #1 enhancement guess would be Sonia Friedman, and I think she would have been in the background since she had two other shows, one directly competitive (in theory). I don't know of any nonprofit with enhancement that was not "produced in-house" and I am sure this one was. Re plays vs musicals, I think this one is a hybrid, and the Tonys designation is just that. 2. There was a half position eliminated in lit, an assistant who also was an assistant to community engagement, and an assistant to Adam. With all do respect to these assistants, I really don't think these were artistic positions. (I also think that, based on my 100+ years of experience :-), an assistant working for the big boss is not canned if they think it will impair the integrity of the boss's work. I think this may have to do with whether full-time people are actually needed at present. 3. On your remaining points, I agree with you. It is a quantity vs quality issue, and I also have to confess that I give PH the benefit of some doubts because they have a track record of doing what's right, even to the way they support their playwrights. |
