One thing about Sondheim & Me that was a little puzzling: Whenever Sondheim cites an author of an article (usually in his corrections), the name is X'd out. I'm surprised since it could be looked up. Except in one instance, where a letter to the editor accused him of being cranky, his corrections are matter of fact and dispassionate.
I think the book does it with the interview at Trinity College, X'ing out the professor's name. (I went to that school and knew the professor; I can't imagine any reason to cut that out.)
Not a big deal, just strange. |
