YES! And tbh, that also goes for all the over the top hooting and hollering and screaming that happens now when one likes what they hear and see.
Speaking as a performer myself, that kind of overreaction can be incredibly disruptive, and to me it feels selfish instead of supportive. Enthusiastic applause used to be enough. Whatever happened to class, indeed?
