| That reminds me that Zoe Caldwell’s performance it was one of the greatest I’ve seen by an actress. Maggie Smith won an Oscar for her performance, but she played it as if she were a victim, where as Zoe played her as a charming but terrible influence on her girls. I will never forget her walking up the aisle at the end of the play saying, give me a girl at an impressionable age, and she will be mine for life. it’still gives me a chill thinking about it. |
