I'm not sure why the Herman estate would prevent a theater with the will or resources to do the pre-downsized version from doing it, just because a downsized version is available.
I doubt it'll resemble the original though, Pasadena Playhouse lately likes to put their own spin on the musicals they revive, some more (Little Shop) than others (Night Music/Sunday). But this is being directed by Sam Pinkleton, who is known for directing OH MARY, and choreographing GREAT COMET and HERE WE ARE... so I assume he's going to have a take on it that's not obviously resembling the orignial.
However if you mean just in terms of size and production values, I sure hope so. |
