As written, the only people involved in the number are Luisa (who doesn't need to move much at all) and the reporters hounding her for gossip. That's pretty easy to make "not busy" and to let the lyrics do the work. Nothing needs to be "illustrated" in the story she tells mid-song as it is here - the music and lyrics give us all that, and we concentrate on Luisa's emotional struggle, not fancy staging. All of that gets lost here, with the busy staging SHE's asked to do, never mind everyone else. (What the hell is going on with the bit at the cafe table? And why is Guido in the number?) Lighting or not, this staging is much much busier than needed.

Also, do I detect the pianist is jazzing things up a little? I'm hearing at least one spot (after "how he needs me so") that doesn't sound right. Could just be a mistake.
