Mine was Pirates of Penzance at LOOM, Light Opera of Manhattan.
This must have been 1970 or 1971. They were
this adorable company led by William Mount-Burke (I think that
was his name) that played all the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas
at the Jan Hus Playhouse on I want to say 75th Street ? Somewhere
in the East Side seventies. I was seven or eight.
When the Pirate King bounded out and sang "I am the Pirate Ki-i-ing !!"
my life changed forever.
Anyone remember LOOM ?? |
