| I'd say Clark's role is "Cinderella" was based on an already existing tv musical, so up for debate (also like her role in "Titanic", not star/lead roles). Gwen Verdon's in "Can-Can" was a supporting role, but it also made her star, quite famously. Also at least the first 3 or 4 of Borle's roles listed, while new musicals, are supporting, not star roles (and he wasn't box-office in "Some Like It Hot as one of the leads). But both Clark and Borle did create some new roles, unlike some we might have thought had done more like Audra McDonald, Sutton Foster, Kelli O'Hara and Marin Mazzie, who really did more work in revivals. | |
