I know that the keys the songs will be in is a whole other discussion, but it does tangentially touch on orchestration, as transposing may also mean changing minor details of instrumentation. I assume they aren't *making* Audra sing Merman's original keys if they don't suit her - and the keys were brought down for Merman during the run.
It will also be interesting to see what happens with the strip sequence, which exists in several versions. The one most often done is not in the published score. But I don't know for sure what we done (or intended to be done) originally. |
