EMPIRE RECORDS - McCarter Princeton NJ

I recently saw EMPIRE RECORDS at McCarter Theater in Princeton NJ. I'm glad I went. The cast is very likable and the music, characters and story are quite good throughout. I liked the movie, nearly 30 years ago, but I didn't remember much about it - which is to say, I can't really compare the adaptation to the original.

When I think about 1990s angsty young adults, my mind tends to go to RENT. This is not RENT but I think it's stronger than the handful of new shows I saw this season, specifically OUTSIDERS, BACK TO THE FUTURE and ILLINOISE.

The show is on the shorter side at about 1:40 in length. I would recommend it, especially for anyone nearby.
