Hi all,
"Vladimir" by Erica Sheffer is very fine drama indeed.
It's a cast of about 8, an hour and a half with a ten minute intermission.
Daniel Sullivan does brilliant direction as always, and everyone is
excellent, particularly Francesca Faridany and David Rosenberg as the
leads. Norbert Leo Butz does fine work in a smaller role.
It's set in the early 2000's in Russia, with a middle-aged female investigative reporter
with a bad habit of sticking her nose where she shouldn't.
It doesn't tell us anything we don't already know about Russia, but if you
want to put human faces to the oppression there, and be very, very
grateful you live in America, this is the play for you.
