So they must have had a license to revoke. It probably was time period and maybe final approval to grant a permanent license.

K&E are too professional by the 90s to not waste their time without a license. Especially for a fictional work like skin. Hamilton is based on the historical book Lin-Manuel read, but probably could have gotten away without a license since Hamilton is a historical person and one could argue that he based the musical on multiple sources. I believe he does give some of his royalty to Ron Chernow. But he probably didn’t have to unlike a musical with Antrobus family.
