Another performer I think of "what might have been" is Virginia Vestoff, who died of cancer at age 42. Whenever I watch "1776", I'm struck by her beautiful presence and gorgeous singing voice. She must have been quite a fine dancer, too, as she understudied Elizabeth Seal in "Irma La Douce".

I've found a rare video of Donald Richards -- singing "Nevertheless" and "Tenement Symphony" introduced by Jackie Gleason as the star of "Finian's Rainbow", back in 1950. Beautiful voice and though the video is grainy, good-looking guy.
Link rare Donald Richards video singing "Nevertheless I'm in Love With You"
