"A View from the Bridge", two different productions, featured two actors who died young. James Hayden, just starting to get acclaim, died at 29, and Brittany Murphy, more established, from another revival was 32. Luba Lisa, a Tony nominee for "I Had a Ball", who features in a very funny anecdote from co-star Karen Morrow about that show and its choreographer Onna White (on-line in a tribute to White), died in a plane crash at 31. Basically, White tailored her choreography for Ms. Lisa to one kind of funky chicken move that non-dancer Ms. Lisa could do, and Lisa ended up being the only one who got a Tony nomination. |
