Starring Lupita Tovar who ended up being the mother of Susan Kohner and the grandmother of Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz. She also lived to the age of 106 being born in 1910 and living until 2016. I have seen it and it's a longer cut with a less rushed finale. There are many scenes not included in the English version as it has survived. It may have been cut down for a rerelease to play the lower half of double bills. Lugosi beats out his Spanish counterpart but I find Tovar more exciting as Mina than the anemic Helen Chandler (Broadway actress). It's on the internet, if you want to find it - look around. It's also an extra on the various Universal Dracula Box Sets. Marlo Manners (Lady Barrington) |
