| The music is not especially similar, but the band members are Christine McVie, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham in all but name. There are incidents involving every one of them that can be traced to documented incidents involving the named members of Fleetwood Mac. I haven't read the book in question, but I sat through the show stunned by how literal the parallels were. It did not stop me from enjoying the play and its behind-the-scenes look at a band's recording process while on the verge of groundbreaking success, but the band itself was surprisingly familiar. I posted after seeing it, questioning why David Adjmi had not been sued for intellectual property violations, but one of our posters explained that it wasn't exactly a case of that. It's a case of something, however, and it will be interesting to see how this suit turns out. |
