Gay wrote a sequel to "A Beggar's Opera" called "Polly", a ballad opera where MacHeath, Polly Peachum, and Jenny Diver find themselves in the West Indies.
Artist Stan Douglas has staged the opera in still images which he has titled "The Enemy of All Mankind". It can be seen at the David Zwirner Gallery on W. 19th St. until Oct. 26th. |
