"Othello" tickets, and prices

Well, I recall the Craig Scottish Play, how the prices eventually came down. I went via TKTS. But these are certainly, um, a new high*? Orchestra and front mezz are $521. Decent seats, if not perfection, can be had for $178. But most are over $300. Will this hold? Please don't lecture me about supply and demand and all that the traffic will allow. I get that. Yet two seats for $1042, plus handling charges inspires a gasp. This particular theater experience seems Exhibit A in the case for Broadway as elitist entertainment.

*Update and check. I see it's not really a new high. But maybe because I was able to afford decent seats for Sunset Boulevard, which many said would be prohibitively priced (I got awfully good St. James tix for $89 each, front row of second section of mezz), I feel shaken.
