James Morgan also did a lot of the scenic design for shows at the York. Yes, his speeches were part of what he did, and I understand how some liked them and others did not. They usually included an appeal for funds and announcements about the rest of the season. He was always very friendly at times when I approached him during intermission or otherwise; even met him marketing in my neighborhood, said hi, and he was personable, approachable and happy to talk about the theater. I don't know what caused this severance with York, but he frankly seemed to be quite devoted to the company, and this rather saddens me. |
