| That was such an interesting case. McDonald had already been scheduled to leave SHUFFLE ALONG fairly early on to do LADY DAY in London. When her pregnancy was announced, the LADY DAY London run was postponed, and she subsequently stayed longer in SHUFFLE ALONG than originally planned. Still, Rudin tried to blamed the production's early closing on the pregnancy, even though the pregnancy gave him more Audra McDonald than he would otherwise have had. Very bad form, but then, as we later learned, just the tip of the iceberg of Rudin behaving badly. |
