''Sondheim gets a lot more revues made of his work than most composers do'' You're not kidding: ''Side by Side by Sondheim,'' ''Marry Me a Little,'' ''A Stephen Sondheim Evening,'' ''Sondheim on Sondheim,'' ''Old Friends'' ... Earlier this year, another joined the pack: ''Being Alive: A Sondheim Celebration'' at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley in Mountain View, Calif. On the other hand, I'd be hardpressed to name an ALW revue: Paper Mill did ''Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber'' in 2020. Anyone here see it? |
