| Supposedly, when Page showed up for work at MGM - to film her first day there of Sweet Bird - the guy at the studio gate wouldn't let her through because he didn't think any movie star could look like THAT. He had to call someone to confirm that she was indeed allowed. I saw her on the street once, in the neighborhood where she lived. She did have a personal bag lady aura that she could shed when it was time to become another person. I saw her in The Madwoman of Chaillot with Carrie Nye, Madeline Sherwood and Jane White and F. Murray Abraham. |
