We all have moments like that.
That said- regarding Tammy Faye (haven’t seen Swept Away) - even if the show had been better (haven’t basically not heard a single good thing other than her and some of the other performers) who in the world is the audience right now for a show celebrating the hypocrisy of rightward-leaning fundamental evangelists and showing how they got in bed with the GOP?
Even if the show had been good, the word of mouth was better, the reviews raves, AND the election a week before it opened had gone the other way (couldn’t have been worse timing there), I still think this would’ve been one of the hardest sells in recent Broadway history.
Deservedly or not, Swept Away at least has a shot.
Whereas either way, I think Tammy Faye was always gonna be DOA. |
