As this show was a labor of love from Elton, one would think he would want to see the score preserved. If nothing else, the remarkable performance of Katie Brayben should be captured.
Personally, having seen the show at The Almeida in 2022, I thought a lot of the score was thrilling and second only to AIDA (though BILLY ELLIOT certainly had its moments). I'm sad to see the show didn't find an audience on Broadway but am hoping that at least a cast recording will be done. Nearly every Broadway show in recent seasons, hit or flop, has been recorded and I hope this show is no exception. |
