She was extraordinary. While it took some getting used to hearing the more buoyant parts of the score sung in her mellifluous soprano (Some People, Have an Eggroll Mr. Goldstone), the showstoppers like Everything's Coming Up Rose's and the most famous 11 o'clock number in theatre history (which really was sung at 11 o'clock due to technical difficulties that stopped the show during the first act) Rose's Turn, she was magnificent. She gave the books scenes a new pathos and depth and I felt like I was seeing them for the first time. Burstein was wonderful too. The actress who played June was a standout as was Lesli Margherita as Tessye Tura. Overall superb for a first preview. Dare I say, Audra should make room on her mantle for seventh Tony. Even without the Nicole MAGA scandal, I think she's got a lock on this.
