Another angle to this is that some people were turned off by the way that Platt's hair and make-up was engineered to make him look younger in a way that maybe didn't stand up to or look realistic under the scrutiny of the camera.
I was personally thrilled Platt got to recreate his iconic role. I am not really a big fan of that musical or Platt, honestly. But after the countless times the original Broadway star was overlooked for the movie--and we call moan about it for years lol ;-)--I am suprised there wasn't more support for Platt in the movie. |
