Merle Louise was Susan in ''Company,'' Mme. Dindon in ''La Cage aux Folles'' and Molina's mother in ''Kiss of the Spider Woman.''
But I'll remember her most as the Beggar Woman in ''Sweeney Todd,'' for which she won a Drama Desk Award (and should've been Tony-nominated).
What a life! In the 40-year-old video interview (!), below, Louise shares her stories about ''La Cage,'' ''Sweeney'' and Ethel Merman in ''Gypsy.'' |
