Well, Sunset has a set. It's a very stark and empty set, but they did design a container to hold the story, and its effective.
But Sunset is one that I think of where the video design is an art in and of itself, both technically and as a form of expression, and it's weird to lump that in with scenery. If we have to lump projections in with something, in this case it would make more sense to include it as part of direction.
Similarly, the projection design in "Eureka Day" is its own character and provides the greatest scene in the play - calling that scenery because it is projected on a wall doesn't make any sense. |
