RODGERS WANTED to write the lyric for :"if i loved you' without being constrained by a lyric/ 'No other Love' was based on a melody from ME AND JULIET, and since Hammerstein was recuperating from a cancer surgery so he was out of commission for the New Haven tryout and some of the Boston dates as well. Rodgers felt there was a song missing for the baron , he wrote the beautiful melody and Hammerstein added the beautiful lyric for the last r&h song s |
