In her one-woman show, Bea Arthur said something to the effect that a couple roles she would have loved to do were Rose in Gypsy and Bea Asher in Ballroom. Then she went on to deliver "Fifty Percent".
I think around casting time she would have still been tied up with Maude, so she *probably* wasn't in contention. |
