are there other examples of that in the Sondheim canon?
Company - the long "We love you" in the original opening number was sweetened (done so that the live cast would have extra support during that note, as they were descending in the elevators).
Follies - a few portions of the ensemble numbers were sweetened. The beginnings of "Loveland" and "Live, Laugh, Love" were prerecorded.
Assassins - the "lamentation" motif sections used after the opening and during "Another National Anthem" and "Something Just Broke" were prerecorded. |
